From
our Lead Pastor.
Dear JFM Friend:
As we pursue our vision and mission of winning people to Christ, building people
in Christ, and sending people for Christ, there are some Biblical truths, guiding
principles, and core values that drive us. Here they are:
We believe that lost people are supremely treasured by God and that Jesus Christ
is uniquely and solely the Savior of the world. For that reason, we lovingly,
innovatively, and actively participate in the great work of making Him known
to people in the greater-Jackson area, and then through outreach and missions,
to our state, nation, and world.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is our Teacher and Counselor in every decision,
action, and ministry. We uphold that He desires to fill and empower our lives
and church, and that he gives gifts to every Christ follower to be used to
advance the cause of Christ.
We believe the Bible is the standard of truth and practice and that the core
of all of our preaching and teaching needs to have it's foundation in the Bible.
We believe that prayer is essential to everything that is accomplished by the
church, for the kingdom, and in the life of the believer.
We believe that God deserves our best and that excellence honors him. Therefore
we strive to excel in the worship, business, service and ministry of the church,
as well as in the care of our buildings and grounds.
We believe small groups are a key Biblical means for 3 C's: Christian
growth, Care (both extending and receiving it), and Connecting
to others in the church. Therefore we facilitate the development and ministry
of such groups, encouraging our people to participate in them.
We believe church leaders should reflect character in all ways. This includes
integrity, honesty, authenticity, faithfulness, and obedience.
We believe the local church, as the body of Christ, is greatly valued by God,
and should operate in unity of spirit and purpose. As we present Christ, the
Hope of the world, we must endeavor to produce Christians who daily live to invest in
the lives of people outside the church, and who invite them
to participate in the life of JFM.
Sincerely,
Doug
